“I had a great question from a post-operative Blepharoplasty or Eyelid Surgery patient today, she was asking about taking showers and hair washing after eyelid or Blepharoplasty surgery. What we allow for this and many other procedures is the following day after surgery prefer people just use sponge bathing but the following day post-operative day number 2.

So, surgery, a free day of no bathing or no showering and then two days later they can take a shower, wash with soap and water, soap and water is really the best antibiotic there is out there. We just don’t want people soaking for long period of time in the shower. So, you can gently wash your face with a good anti-bacterial soap.

We’re not so worried about hair styling and the conditioners and all the special shampoos so using a nice anti-bacterial soap, most soaps, frankly are anti-bacterial and wound cleaning is probably the biggest way to prevent infection and ultimately get the result.
